Lost in Austin

We made it. They all said it could never work, it couldn't be done, but here we are proving them wrong. And we're all still alive. Tomorrow is the big day. Two shows on Thursday at SXSW parties. The first is a daytime show at Revolution bar at 2pm for an EI showcase. The second is a Anti Tourist party over at the Audrey House, which starts at 7:45. If you know anybody who's come out to SXSW, just lives in the area, or maybe wants to drive from around the world to come see great music, let them know. Much Love.

Oh, here's a little driving music...

Sat Darshan Singh & Sirgun Kaur @ Cherry Blossom Yoga

Yep, that's me in the background there... Just wanted to take my time to acknowledge another great band I'm part of, Sat Darshan Singh and Kirtan Caravan. He has now linked up with an amazing songstress and singer, Sirgun Kaur. They currently have an album in the works and you can check out their web page at

Greg Smith and the Broken English

Phew, what a week we've had so far. I haven't had one moment to sit down and try to explain all the funny shit that has happened to us so far on tour. Most of you know, but for those that don't, my band Greg Smith and the Broken English are out on tour from NYC to SXSW. For now I'll just give a quick breakdown of the place we've been and where we played. We said goodbye to the loved ones on Friday evening and made our way down to Philadelphia, PA. (apparently GPS thinks it's hilarious to send your singer and drummer down to PA via rte 1). Luckily everybody made it to the Grape room and luckily our bassist, and now apparently, tour manager Jon Calligeri was able to put us on the main stage. We played a quick set and then stuck around to see the great bands that followed. (sidenote: we have seen and met some some great bands and people on this tour, more to come on that). We got back to the hotel and went right to bed... sure, I'll stick with that for now. The next day we were out to Fredrick, MD to play at a place called Cafe Nola. First I'd like to thank the owner Cindy for making us feel so at home. I am definitely not going in to how great Fredrick was, because that make two or three more posts. For our next spot we delved into the dungeon like atmosphere of the cave, trying not to bash our heads on the ceiling as we jumped around the stage area. Right now I'm sitting in New Orleans, LA (nursing myself back to health) after a long, LONG night in the big easy. Somebody pinch me, or better yet just let me enjoy this dream.

Disclaimer

Dear Reader,
This is the spot to find my side of the story. I currently work with three bands: Greg Smith and the Broken English, Sat Darshan Singh and the Kirtan Caravan, and Smokestack Relay. This in no way reflects the views of any of the other members in the bands.
